Trees for Youth Housing a Success!
On Sunday, December 9th, James and Cynthia held a fundraising event selling Christmas Trees at Magnet Home Hardware on Commercial Drive. They sold 75 trees to various members of the community and as a result they have donated $400.00 to the Transitioning to Independence Program at Watari. Their purpose was to raise the profile of a cause they both believe in... the problems that youth experience in finding stable, affordable housing in Vancouver. James and Cynthia would like to thank everyone from the Grandview area who came down to buy their Christmas tree that day, and encourage people to remember and consider donating to Watari to help youth who are overcoming adversity.
