Buying or Selling Your Home During the Holidays!
- During the holiday season, both buyers and sellers who are just looking around or testing the market are generally less active. This means that you are more likely to encounter more qualified buyers and serious sellers, and overall a more genuine perspective of the real estate market.
- As December 31st is a natural 'end of the year' break, there will be many listings that are set to expire at that time if they haven't sold by then. It's a good time for buyers to try to catch that property that may be off the market in January. Just to be safe, make sure you talk to a Mortgage Specialist to verify how much you can afford before you start looking at properties!
- If you are considering selling or needing to sell your home, keep in mind that this time of year there may be fewer other listings in competition with yours, which means that your home may get more qualified exposure. If you are listing your home, here's a link to my colleague Heather Kleim's staging website - she has some great ideas about how to prepare you home to show over the holidays: http://www.epicempiredesigns.ca/Articles/Staging-During-The-Holidays.php . As always, I'm happy to discuss your real estate needs with you anytime - please feel free to give me a call at 604.626.9734.
